LittleLantes - Early Literacy Classroom
LittleLantes, formerly known as Kinder Cubs, will be accepting applications starting January 1st, 2025.

LittleLantes Early Literacy Classroom Program
LittleLantes is East Helena Public School’s early literacy classroom program based out of Eastgate Elementary. Students are admitted based on application status, assessment scores, and being age eligible (4 years old on or before September 10th of the school year they plan on attending). Students accepted into LittleLantes attend school during the same hours and days as all Eastgate Kindergarten students. The school day consists of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
All public school students are required to provide proof of immunizations, proof of residence, and a copy of the child's certified birth certificate. These documents will need to be provided IF your child is accepted into the program and prior to the start of school.
LittleLantes is designed to be a high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning environment. It is led by a certified teacher and supported by paraprofessionals working together to address early learning standards: literacy skills, emotional, social, physical, communication and cognition. Families are key partners in this process. LittleLantes will offer home visits and periodic family activities to build strong, trusting relationships between home and school.
Class Hours:
8:00-8:20 check in/arrival (set up for breakfast
8:20 class begins (breakfast served)
2:50-3:00 dismissal/pick up
*LittleLante students are not eligible for the Tiger After School program or to ride the buses. Students must be picked up by 3:00.
*Out of district students must apply for out of district approval yearly (see https://www.ehpsmt.gov/parent-resources/online-registration for application ).
*Rocky Mountain Development Council (RMDC Head Start) also offers a 4 year old, full day preschool class (housed at Eastgate). Additionally they offer Head Start classes for 3 and 4 year olds. For more Information about the RMDC program call 406-457-7308.

Application process opens January 1, 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year. Once applications are received, parents will receive follow up communications from the school that pertain to our screening process that happens in April.
