A Note From the Principal

Eastgate Elementary - KinderCubs - Kindergarten

        Brandon Crusat - Principal

Greetings, families of Eastgate and Prickly Pear!

I would like to introduce myself as the principal of Eastgate and Prickly Pear Elementary!  My name is Brandon Crusat and I am thrilled to be part of the East Helena Public Schools team and community.  Working with students and educators is a true passion of mine and I am thankful to share that passion with you!

I would like to take this opportunity to share a bit about myself.  First and foremost, I am a family oriented individual.  I have a wonderful wife and three beautiful daughters.  My hobbies are plain and simple.  I enjoy spending time with my family and being in the great outdoors where I love to hunt, fish, hike, and camp.  Being part of a family and a community is of utmost importance to me and having our students feel like they belong is a non-negotiable.

I knew from the moment that I started my career in education that I wanted to become an elementary principal.  Truly, I can’t imagine doing anything else.  In the early years of my career I served as a physical education/health teacher and coached numerous sports.  While teaching, I also took on administrative duties as an activities director and fell in love with helping and assisting my coaches.  Soon after, I transitioned into a vice principal position at a middle school and gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience.  I was able to quickly move to an elementary principal position and completed 5 years of service with Crimson Point Elementary in Kuna, ID.  During my time there I was blessed to have created wonderful relationships with students, staff, and our community.  I believe this was achieved by living by my 3 pillars:  Be seen by students, be supportive of staff, and listen to the community.  These pillars have cemented my practices and how I identify myself as a leader.  It is of great joy that these leadership pillars transitioned with me from Idaho to Montana and have allowed me to create strong and positive relationships with students, staff, and our community.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if there are questions I can help with or if I can offer assistance.

Your partner in education,

Brandon Crusat
